In this section, you will find the basic rules and essential knowledge of Tajweed. Every Muslim should learn how to recite the Qur’an correctly.

If the Qur’an is not recited according to the rules of Tajweed, the meaning can sometimes change completely or even take on the opposite meaning. At the very least, the beauty and precision of the recitation will be lost.

Dedicate some time every day to learn one lesson. Fix a specific time for it, do your homework regularly, and practice often by recording your own recitation so you can correct yourself if a teacher is not available. In shā’ Allāh, with sincere effort and consistency, you can complete the course within two months.

If a professional teacher is available in person, we highly encourage you to learn directly from them for better guidance and pronunciation.

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يَتْلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ ١٢١

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب عنایت کی ہے، وہ اس کو (ایسا) پڑھتے ہیں جیسا اس کے پڑھنے کا حق ہے۔ یہی لوگ اس پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہیں، اور جو اس کو نہیں مانتے، وہ خسارہ پانے والے ہیں

वे लोग जिन्हें हमने किताब दी है, उसे पढ़ते हैं जैसे उसे पढ़ने का हक़ है, ये लोग उसपर ईमान रखते हैं और जो कोई उसका इनकार करे, तो वही लोग घाटा उठाने वाले हैं।

Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. And whoever disbelieves in it - it is they who are the losers.
(Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:121)
