BUILDING GRAVE (DARGA), ASKING DU'AA FROM THEM & CELEBRATING OORS (عرس)

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

AFTER ALL THESE CLEAR PROOFS, YOU THINK: BUILDING GRAVE (DARGA), ASKING DU'AA FROM THEM & CELEBRATING OORS (عرس) IS ALLOW IN ISLAM???

Sahih Muslim: Book 004, Number 2116

Jabir said: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) forbade that the graves should be plastered or they be used as sitting places (for the people), or a building should be built over them.

Sunan Abi Dawud 3222

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet (ï·º) said: There is no slaughtering (at the grave) in Islam. ('Abd al-Razzaq said: They used to slaughter cows or sheep at grave.)

Sahih Muslim: Book 004, Number 2121

Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Do not sit on the graves and do not pray facing towards them.

Sunan Abi Dawud 3228

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah (ï·º) as saying: It is better that one of you should sit on the live coals which burns his clothing and come in contact with his skin than that he should sit on a grave.

Sahih Muslim: Book 004, Number 2114

Thumama b. Shafayy reported: When we were with Fadala b. 'Ubaid in the country of the Romans at a place (known as) Rudis, a friend of ours died. Fadala b. 'Ubaid ordered to prepare a grave for him and then it was levelled; and then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) commanding (us) to level the grave.

Sahih Muslim: Book 004, Number 1076

'A'isha reported: Umm Habiba and Umm Salama made a mention before the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) of a church which they had seen in Abyssinia and which had pictures in it. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When a pious person amongst them (among the religious groups) dies they build a place of worship on his grave, and then decorate it with such pictures. They would be the worst of creatures on the Day of Judgment in the sight of Allah.

Sahih al-Bukhari 1330

Narrated `Urwa: Aisha said, "The Prophet (ï·º) in his fatal illness said, 'Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians because they took the graves of their Prophets as places for praying."' Aisha added, "Had it not been for that, the grave of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) would have been made prominent but I am afraid it might be taken (as a) place for praying." (By that he warned his follower of imitating them, by doing that which they did.)

Sahih Muslim: 2243

It was narrated that Abu Al-Hayyâj Al-Asadî said: Ail bin Abî Taalib said to me: "Shall I not send you on the same mission as the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) sent me (saying): "Do not leave any statue without destroying it nor any raised grave without levelling it.

Sunan an-Nasa'i: 2029

It was narrated that Jaabir said: "The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) forbade building over graves, making them larger or plastering over them." (One of two narrators) Suleiman bin Musa added: ``or writing on them.''

Sunan Abi Dawud 2042

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Do not make your houses graves, and do not make my grave a place of festivity (عرس). But invoke blessings on me, for your blessings reach me wherever you may be.

Sunan Abi Dawud: 3220

Narrated Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu-Bakr: I said to Aisha! Mother, show me the grave of the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) and his two Companions (Allah be pleased with them). She showed me three graves, which were neither high nor low, but were spread with soft red pebbles in an open space.

Sunan an-Nasa'i 2043

Ibn ‘Abbas said that God’s Messenger cursed women who visited graves, people who put mosques there and those who lit lamps there.

Qur’an 27:80

Surely you do not make the dead to hear, and you do not make the deaf to hear the call when they go back retreating.

Qur’an 35:22

Neither are the living and the dead alike. Surely Allah makes whom He pleases hear, and you cannot make those hear who are in the graves.

Qur’an 16:20

And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created.

Qur’an 2:99

And certainly We have revealed to you clear communications and none disbelieve in them except the transgressors.

Qur’an 12:106

And most of them do not believe in Allah without associating others (with Him).

Qur’an 4:116

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.

After all these clear proofs who want to argue with Allah and his messenger (peace be upon him)? My duty is to convey the correct messages, as Allah (SWT) says, “so remind; you are only a reminder. You are not over them a controller. (Quran 88:21-22)
